E.DSO 1st FutureGrid Innovation Summit

Beflexible joined a panel exploring the type of investments and technologies needed for developing smart energy systems

 

The 1st edition of the FutureGrid Innovation Summit, titled “Advancing Grid Innovation: Growing Ideas into Impact”, took place on February 6, 2025, in Brussels. Organized by our partner, the Association of European Distribution System Operators (E.DSO), this event brought together over 200 representatives from the energy industry, companies, associations, European institutions, projects, NGOs, and Member States. It served as a key platform for networking and exchanging ideas.

The summit featured three interactive panel sessions:

Panel 1: Smart Systems

Our project representative, Santiago Gallego Amores, Network Regulations Manager at i-DE, took part in this discussion, which addressed the following questions: “What needs to be done to achieve an efficient and smart system? What investments are required? Which technological innovations are necessary?

Panel 2: Resilience

The event proceeded with a panel addressing topics such as: “What actions should be taken to ensure the system remains operational in a changing environment, in a cost-effective manner? How can the network be managed in real time, with RES integration and widespread EV charging?”.

Panel 3: Customer Empowerment

Finally, the summit concluded with a roundtable on: “How can DSOs foster innovation and maintain flexible grids to support the empowerment of energy consumers?”.
